Software with purpose.
We build apps for real people dealing with real things — recovery, connection, self-improvement, community. No dark patterns. No fluff. Just software that actually helps.
What we build
Each app starts from a real problem. If it doesn't help someone in a meaningful way, we don't ship it.
A shame-free habit tracker for people cutting back or quitting — substances, screen time, anything. Streaks, AI coach, buddy system, community. No judgment, just support.
Visit gohelder.app →A neighbour request platform with urgency levels — from borrowing eggs to needing help right now. Building real community, one request at a time.
How we think
A few things we believe that shape every product we build.
Every app starts with a real problem and a real person who has it. Revenue follows usefulness — not the other way around.
We don't sell data. We don't track what we don't need. We build for trust — especially in apps where people share vulnerable things.
No fake urgency, no manipulative notifications, no addiction loops. If you want to leave, we make it easy. Good products don't need tricks.
One developer. Local-first infrastructure. Lean by design. We don't need a VC to build something that matters.
The studio
Heimel Studio is a one-person indie app studio based in Belgium. I build apps that I'd want to exist in the world — things that help people through difficult moments, connect communities, and make everyday life a little less hard.
Every app runs on privacy-first infrastructure, self-hosted where possible, and built to last — not to flip. I care about the people who use what I build.
GoHelder came from watching people struggle with habits and finding nothing that felt genuinely supportive. Nearbo came from living in a city where neighbours don't talk. That's the pattern — apps that give a damn.
